DNCC alleges attacks during Uttarkhan clash involving sanitation workers

An incident involving sanitation workers and local residents took place on Sunday at the Rajabari Secondary Transfer Station in Uttarkhan’s Ward 46.

Dhaka North City Corporation alleged that some local individuals attacked its sanitation workers while they were carrying out their duties.

The corporation said tensions escalated at the site.

DNCC Administrator Shafiqul Islam Khan, local MP Jahangir Hossain and a police deputy commissioner went there to address the situation, the corporation said.

DNCC further alleged that those who attacked the workers also moved against Khan and Hossain after they arrived.

Police were working to bring the situation under control, DNCC said.

DNCC’s emergency message did not specify whether anyone was injured or whether any person had been detained.
