Evidence first
Material factual claims should be supported by independent evidence. Single-source automated reports are not eligible for publication.
Neutrality and attribution
Allegations, uncertainty and disputed claims are identified clearly. Headlines must reflect the report and must not exaggerate.
Automation
Software and AI may assist discovery, comparison, rewriting, translation, categorisation and metadata. Automation does not change our duty to avoid unsupported claims.
Conflicts and sponsorship
Sponsored or affiliated material must be labelled clearly and must not be presented as independent reporting.
Updates
A publication time is not changed merely to make an old article appear new. Material updates are identified and corrections are recorded.
