The Local Government Division has directed deputy commissioners nationwide to ensure due state protocol for district council administrators and chairmen.
The directive applies to state functions, national days, government meetings and other protocol-related events.
It requires strict adherence to the Warrant of Precedence, 1986, as amended through July 2020.
The instruction covers seating arrangements, the sequence of names in official letters and invitations, and other protocol matters.
A July 30 letter signed by Local Government Division Joint Secretary Khondkar Farhad Ahmad was sent to all deputy commissioners.
The division asked relevant officials and institutions to take the steps needed to implement the instruction.
Copies were also sent to officials including the cabinet secretary, divisional commissioners, the Local Government Division secretary, police commissioners, and district council administrators and chairmen.
The Local Government Division said implementation was expected to ensure district council administrators and chairmen receive their due protocol and status at district-level government events.
