The superintendent of Mohammad Bhola Omoria Islamia Dakhil Madrasa in Tajumuddin, Bhola, has filed a written complaint seeking an investigation into alleged irregularities in a teacher’s payroll records.
The complaint alleges that assistant teacher Md Mohiuddin used the index number and bank-account details of another teacher with the same name to obtain government salary and allowances.
The accused is also an office assistant at Tajumuddin Degree College and secretary of the upazila unit of Jamaat-e-Islami.
The complaint identifies the original junior teacher’s index number as 364776 and bank account as 4606, while it identifies the accused’s index number as 602782.
It further alleges that the accused was appointed as an assistant teacher in 2006 despite rules introduced after teacher registration began in 2005, and that he was paid against a junior teacher’s post.
Superintendent Md Nuruzzaman said the madrasa’s MPO sheet lists the accused’s name and index 602782 against account number 4606.
The complaint says this account appeared against index 602782 in MPO sheets from 2007 through June 2026.
Mohiuddin denied using account 4606 to draw salary and denied withholding information during his appointment.
He said the superintendent and the institution’s president issue salaries, and described the complaint as a campaign against him.
Mohiuddin also alleged that the superintendent sought Tk 500,000 in 2018 and received Tk 300,000; Nuruzzaman denied taking Tk 300,000.
Tajumuddin Upazila Secondary Education Officer Md Rezaul Karim said an investigation would be conducted and a report sent to higher authorities.
Kazi Mawlana Harunur Rashid, secretary of the party’s Bhola district unit, said a committee would be formed to examine the complaint and consider organisational action.
The evidence contains conflicting accounts of when the original teacher died and differs on the exact date of the accused’s 2006 appointment, leaving those details unresolved.
