Assistant Attorney General Md Mahfuzur Rahman submitted a resignation letter on 3 August.
The letter was addressed to Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Md Asaduzzaman.
Rahman cited personal reasons and wrote that he was unable to carry out the responsibilities of the post.
He asked for the resignation to be accepted and for him to be released from the position.
In the letter, Rahman said he was resigning voluntarily with effect from 3 August.
He had been appointed through a Solicitor Wing notification issued on 30 July.
That notification appointed 179 people as assistant attorneys general, including Rahman.
The same notification appointed 86 deputy attorneys general and cancelled earlier appointments to the deputy attorney general and assistant attorney general posts.
It cited powers under Article 3(1) of the Bangladesh Law Officers Order, 1972.
The evidence reviewed does not state whether the resignation has been formally accepted.
