A woman was killed after a flour-laden truck overturned onto a roadside home in Gopalganj Sadar on Wednesday morning, police said.
The crash occurred in the Malenga area on the Gopalganj–Tekerhat regional highway.
Gopalganj Sadar police identified the deceased as 26-year-old Suraiya Begum.
She was living in a rented tin-roofed house beside the road, police said.
The truck was travelling towards Gopalganj from Tekerhat when it lost control, according to the officer in charge of Gopalganj Sadar police station.
Police said the vehicle fell onto the house, trapping Suraiya Begum beneath the truck and sacks of flour while she was asleep.
Residents said she was five months pregnant.
Fire service personnel recovered her body from the site.
Police sent the body to the morgue at Gopalganj 250-bed General Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
The driver left the scene after the crash, police said, adding that legal action was being initiated.
