A Habiganj magistrate’s court granted bail on 2 August to 11 accused in a case linked to allegations of an attack on a National Citizen Party, or NCP, motorcade.
The accused include Habiganj district Chhatra Dal president Shah Rajib Ahmed Ringon.
They appeared before the court and applied for bail.
Defence lawyer Kutub Uddin Jewel confirmed that the court allowed the applications.
Jewel described the bail as temporary; the conditions and duration were not detailed.
The case was filed by Tanmoy Taher Rubel, convener of the NCP-affiliated Habiganj district Chhatra Shakti, following allegations that Chhatra Dal activists attacked an NCP motorcade after a 28 July procession.
The complaint alleged that several people, including NCP central leaders, were injured.
It identified the alleged location as the Thana Mor area while NCP leaders were returning to Circuit House after the July Jagaran procession.
Ringon called the case false and fabricated, while Jewel said it lacked specific details on the alleged incident and alleged assaults.
Chhatra Dal separately submitted an application to Habiganj Sadar police seeking a case against 10 NCP leaders, including Nasiruddin Patwary and Sarjis Alam.
That application alleged attempted murder, assault, vandalism and snatching; no outcome of the application was stated.
