Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman urged US President Donald Trump not to launch a major new military attack on Iran during a telephone call.

The White House and the Saudi Embassy in Washington declined to comment on the reported exchange.

Araghchi told the Saudi foreign minister that Iran's armed forces would respond to hostile action by the United States or Israel, as well as to participation or cooperation by regional states in such action.

Separately, the Houthi military claimed that it used a drone to strike a sensitive target at Najran Airport in southern Saudi Arabia.

The group said the action was a response to what it described as Saudi drone operations over Yemen's Saada and Hajjah provinces.

The Houthi statements cited in the evidence set did not provide independently verifiable casualty or damage figures.
