Three Bangladeshi nationals were killed and another was seriously injured following an incident involving Bangladeshi workers in Taman Linggi, in Malaysia’s Negeri Sembilan state.
Negeri Sembilan police chief Datuk Alzafni Ahmad said police received a call from residents at about 4:15pm on Monday about an altercation involving several Bangladeshis at a house in the area.
Linggi police officers went to the house and detained a 40-year-old Bangladeshi man on suspicion of involvement, he said.
Police subsequently recovered two more bodies in the Sua Mangis Estate area of Linggi during their preliminary inquiry.
Police said the three deceased had serious injuries on different parts of their bodies.
The injured Bangladeshi national was taken to Rembau Hospital and was receiving treatment.
Preliminary police findings indicate that the deceased, the injured person and the detainee worked for the same employer and lived together.
Alzafni said investigators believe events may have occurred at more than one location and are working to establish the sequence.
Police said the detainee had no known prior criminal record and was due to be brought before the Port Dickson Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday for a remand application.
The case is being investigated under Section 302 of Malaysia’s Penal Code, while the cause of the incident and any motive have not been established.
