The prosecution at the International Crimes Tribunal is working to resolve pending cases linked to the July uprising within the next year, Chief Prosecutor Aminul Islam said on 4 August.
Islam said the prosecution would follow international standards and would not rush proceedings.
He said six cases had been completed since the tribunal was formed in August 2024.
Twenty July-related cases are currently pending before the tribunal, he said.
Islam said the prosecution was also preparing for appeal hearings.
He said information on 509 July-related incidents had been documented across the country.
Rejecting allegations of selective prosecution, Islam said investigators operate independently and that the prosecution does not interfere with their inquiries.
Where an investigation contains deficiencies or inconsistencies, the file is sent back for reinvestigation, he said.
On Sheikh Hasina, Islam said the tribunal's role was to pursue the legal process for her return to the country so that any court verdict could be implemented.
He said that if her return could not be secured, implementation of a verdict might be delayed.
