Government appoints new secretaries in public works, energy and primary education

The Ministry of Public Administration issued a notification appointing new secretaries to the Housing and Public Works Ministry, the Energy and Mineral Resources Division and the Primary and Mass Education Ministry.

Obaidur Rahman was appointed secretary of the Housing and Public Works Ministry.

He had been serving as a secretary attached to the Ministry of Public Administration and had previously held the post of industries secretary.

Jesmin Nahar, an additional secretary at the Home Ministry, was promoted to secretary and appointed to lead the Primary and Mass Education Ministry.

The notification attached the ministry’s outgoing secretary, Sakhawat Hossain, to the Ministry of Public Administration.

Mohammad Saiful Islam was transferred from the Energy and Mineral Resources Division to the Disaster Management and Relief Ministry.

Ziaul Haque, an additional secretary at the Energy and Mineral Resources Division, was promoted to secretary and posted to the same division.

The notification stated that the promotions and postings of Jesmin Nahar and Ziaul Haque took place together.
