A coach of the Silkcity Express derailed at Shaheed M. Mansur Ali railway station in Sirajganj on Tuesday, disrupting rail services between Dhaka and northern Bangladesh.
The train had departed Rajshahi for Dhaka when the coach left the tracks after reaching the station.
Railway authorities put the incident at 10:55am, while another account placed it at about 11am.
Passenger trains were held at several stations after the disruption.
Railway authorities said no casualties had been reported.
Moniruzzaman, station master at Jamuna Bridge West Saydabad railway station, said there had been no major damage.
Railway personnel were working to recover the coach and reopen the line.
Railway authorities said train operations would be restored in stages after the recovery work is completed.
The cause of the derailment and the expected time for full service restoration were not specified.
