The Primary and Mass Education Ministry has set 1 October 2026 as the joining date for 14,384 selected assistant teachers in government primary schools.
Candidates selected for vacant posts under the 2025 assistant-teacher recruitment will join at the district primary education office in their respective districts.
The ministry’s School-2 branch issued the new schedule on 2 August.
Appointment letters will be sent to the selected candidates in due course.
The notice sets 4 October for the teachers’ posting, with professional training to follow later.
The new date replaces a 29 October joining timeline that Primary and Mass Education Secretary Md Sakhawat Hossain had indicated on 1 August.
Sakhawat Hossain said at the time that investigations and procedural delays had held up the process.
Some selected candidates had announced an ongoing sit-in in the capital, seeking prompt joining and posting under the 2025 recruitment rules.
