A man was killed in a crash involving a motorcycle and a truck near Charaikol rail gate on the Kushtia–Rajbari regional highway in Kumarakhali on Thursday afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Abdullah Al Noman, 40, of Mahendrapur village in Jagannathpur union.
Police and local residents said Noman was travelling from Kushtia towards Kumarakhali when he fell from his motorcycle while trying to overtake a truck.
They said the truck’s rear wheel ran over him and he died at the scene.
Kumarakhali police inspector Amirul Islam said police recovered the body and handed it over to highway police.
Islam said procedures were under way to release the body to the family without a post-mortem examination following a family request.
