A 17-year-old SSC examinee, Md Russell, died after an electrical incident in Nurabad Union under Dularhat police station in Char Fasson on Thursday.
Russell was the son of Md Abul Kalam and had taken the 2026 SSC examination from Dularhat Secondary School.
His family said an electric motor had been installed in a pond for flooring work at the family home.
The family said Russell was electrocuted while connecting the motor to an electrical switchboard.
Relatives took him to Char Fasson উপজেলা Health Complex after he was seriously injured.
Emergency physician Muntasir Billah said Russell had died before being brought to the hospital.
Dularhat Secondary School assistant teacher Md Zakir Hossain described him as a talented student and expressed condolences.
Dularhat police station officer-in-charge Yasin Alam Chowdhury said police had received information about the death and that the family had not made a complaint.
