The Bangladesh Madrasah Education Board has cancelled the existing ad hoc committees of all private Dakhil and Alim madrasas.
The order includes committees whose terms had already expired.
Registrar Professor S M Touhiduzzaman signed the emergency notice issued on 2 August.
The board instructed the institutions to establish new ad hoc committees within 15 working days after obtaining the required approvals.
The notice cites Rule 64 of the 2025 regulations governing managing committees and governing bodies of private Dakhil and Alim madrasas.
It also refers to amended regulations under SRO No. 89-Law/2026 and a 30 July instruction from the Technical and Madrasah Education Division.
For chairperson nominations, a principal or superintendent is to submit a three-person panel through the local Upazila Nirbahi Officer and deputy commissioner.
The panel may include education supporters, prominent social workers, elected representatives, or serving and retired government officials ranked at grade 9 or above.
For madrasas in city corporation areas, committee proposals must be sent to the relevant education board through the divisional commissioner.
The board sent the instruction to institution heads, committee members, and relevant district and upazila education officials.
