A coach of the Rajshahi-to-Dhaka Silkcity Express derailed at Shaheed M. Mansur Ali station in Sirajganj on 4 August.

The incident temporarily halted rail connections between Dhaka and the northern region.

Sirajganj Railway Police Officer-in-Charge Khairul Islam Talukdar said a wheel on the train's designated 'Jha' coach broke, causing the derailment.

Moniruzzaman, station master at Jamuna Bridge West (Saidabad) railway station, said the train derailed while entering Mansur Ali station.

Passenger trains were left waiting at multiple stations after traffic was stopped.

Moniruzzaman said no casualties were reported.

Railway workers and a recovery team were working to remove the derailed coach and restore the route.

Railway police said train services were expected to resume after the recovery work was completed.
