BNP senior joint-union Ruhammad Kabir Ruhai, speaking at a student rally at Rajshahi University, said the use of vulgar language in politics harms democracy, civilization, and a healthy political culture, and urged young people to maintain decency.
Rizvi criticized the National Citizens' Party (NCP) for aligning with what he called a 'backward political party,' saying the decision was not correct from a political philosophy standpoint.
He also said that former leader Sheikh Hasina regularly spread falsehood and propaganda against political opponents, and that some young leaders' language reflects what he called Hasina's 'bad culture.'
Rizvi defended the practice of appointing party loyalists to administrative posts after a government change, citing the US 'spoils system' as an example.
In a Facebook post, former interim government adviser Mahfuz Alam said the July movement's organizations have divided along ideological lines, and that right-wing and non-right-wing factions should not accommodate each other.
Alam wrote that those who want to stay outside the right-left divide must learn from this 'July settlement,' adding that 'without your own mob, not a single punch will land on the ground.'
At the Rajshahi event, Chhatra Dalal national secretary Naserir Nasir accused Chhatra Shibir of harassing female students and cyberbullying for over two years, and criticized a 'female corner' at Dhaka University's TSC.
Nasir also criticized NCP leader Nasiruddin Dinwari and made sharp remarks aimed at Rajshahi University Students' Union general governor Salahuddin Ammar.
