Rain and squally-wind forecast issued for 13 areas, including Dhaka

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department issued an inland-river-port forecast for rain or thundershowers and temporary squally winds in 13 areas, including Dhaka.

The areas named in the forecast were Rangpur, Dinajpur, Bogura, Tangail, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar and Sylhet.

The department said winds could temporarily reach 45 to 60 kilometres per hour from the south or southeast.

It asked inland river ports in the affected areas to display cautionary signal No. 1.

The forecast was issued for the period from 5am to 1pm on August 4, 2026.
