Candidates recommended for assistant-teacher posts at government primary schools began an indefinite sit-in in Shahbagh on 2 August.
The protest is being held outside the National Museum and concerns 14,384 recommended candidates.
The candidates are demanding that their appointments and postings be completed within August.
They have also called for a written notification or office order carrying a specific date to be published on a government website.
They say they will continue the programme until such a written order is issued.
The candidates had previously sought a clear appointment and posting plan by 29 July.
An emergency virtual meeting on teacher recruitment was held by the Primary and Mass Education Ministry on 1 August.
After the meeting, the ministry said it expected the joining process for the recommended teachers to begin by 30 October.
Ministry Secretary Md Sakhawat Hossain said investigations and procedural delays had slowed the process.
The candidates have rejected the October timeline, maintaining that the recruitment rules require appointments and postings within the current month.
It remains unclear when a written order will be issued and when the candidates will ultimately join their posts.
