The Israeli military said it killed two Hamas commanders in separate airstrikes in the Gaza Strip.

The IDF identified one as Salem Jamal Abdel al-Rahman Abu Labad, a cell commander in the Nukhba special forces, killed in an airstrike in southern Gaza on Saturday.

The IDF said Abu Labad had taken part in the October 2023 attack on the Nir Oz kibbutz in southern Israel.

The military also said it killed Muhammad Abd al-Nasser Muhammad Khatib, commander of the Maghazi battalion, in a separate airstrike in the al-Maghazi area of central Gaza on Friday.

Hamas did not immediately respond to the Israeli claims.

The strikes occurred on separate days, with the southern Gaza operation on Saturday and the central Gaza operation on Friday.
