Waleed Abdul Karim al-Khuraiji, Saudi Arabia’s deputy foreign minister, arrived in Dhaka on the night of 3 August 2026 for a two-day official visit.

He was received at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport by Humayun Kabir, foreign affairs adviser to the prime minister.

The foreign ministry said al-Khuraiji is scheduled to leave Bangladesh on the afternoon of 4 August.

A Dhaka diplomatic source said the visiting official is expected to pay courtesy calls on Prime Minister Tarique Rahman and Foreign Minister Khalilur Rahman.

The same source said a meeting with State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shama Obaed Islam was also possible.

The trip was described as an opportunity for discussions on existing bilateral relations and issues of mutual interest between Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia.
