At least five people died and 41 were missing after a passenger ferry caught fire off Indonesia’s Madura Island on Sunday morning.
Indonesia’s national search-and-rescue agency released the casualty and missing-person figures.
The vessel was travelling from Surabaya in East Java to Makassar in South Sulawesi.
There were 271 passengers and crew aboard, the search-and-rescue agency said.
The agency said 225 people had been brought to safety.
Search operations for those still missing were continuing.
The cause of the fire had not been established.
The toll and number of missing people may change as the operation continues.
