On 6 August 2026, the Jagannath University Central Students' Union (JKSu) submitted a nine-point memorandum to the vice-chancellor.

The memorandum, signed by JKSu Vice President Riazul Islam, demands the removal and punishment of the proctor, trial of attacks on students, and administrative accountability.

It alleges that when students entered the auditorium with placards to press for demands, the proctorial body and Chhatra Dalal activists removed the placards and forcibly removed them.

The memorandum also quotes the proctor as warning that protesters would be 'removed by creating a scene' if they did not withdraw the protest.

It claims that Chhatra Dalal activists and outsiders then attacked the protesting students and JKSu leaders with domestic weapons, injuring several, including VP Riazul Islam, GS Abdul Alim Arif, and executive member Abdullah Al Faruk.

The memorandum states that the administration took no effective measures to prevent the attack, damaging students' trust.

JKSu expects the administration to take effective measures within three working days, otherwise it will consider the inaction a failure of duty.
