Bangladesh received $602 million in remittances between 1 and 5 August, Bangladesh Bank’s latest update showed.
The amount was 83.7% higher than remittances recorded during the same five-day period of the previous fiscal year.
Remitters sent $196 million over 4 and 5 August alone.
From 1 July through 5 August, cumulative remittances totalled $3.461 billion.
The comparable total for the same period a year earlier was $2.806 billion.
Bangladesh Bank said cumulative remittance inflows had increased by 23.3% year on year through 5 August.
The central bank said continued use of formal banking channels was strengthening foreign-currency inflows and could support reserves and the broader economy.
