A 30-year-old man was killed and two people were injured after a passenger bus struck rickshaws and pedestrians at Golapbagh intersection in Dhaka.
The crash occurred at about 4pm on Monday.
Sub-Inspector Md Manjurul Islam of Jatrabari police station said an Iran Express bus lost control and hit several rickshaws and pedestrians.
Police said Abdullah Al Mamun died at the scene.
The injured were identified as rickshaw driver Mozammel Haque, 60, and passenger Abul Kalam, 50.
They were receiving treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital, police said.
Kalam said he had been travelling by rickshaw from Basabo toward Jatrabari, with two other passengers in the vehicle.
He said the bus came down from the Sayedabad flyover before hitting the rickshaw, pedestrians and other vehicles.
Police said the bus was seized and its driver was detained.
Mamun was from Sirajganj and worked as a sales representative for a pharmaceutical company.
Police said his body was sent to the Dhaka Medical College morgue for a post-mortem examination.
