Prime Minister Tarique Rahman met Sergio Gor, the United States special envoy for South and Central Asia, at the Prime Minister’s Office in Tejgaon on Saturday.
The meeting began at about 9:30am on 1 August.
The discussions included ways to strengthen bilateral relations.
The Rohingya crisis and prospects for a long-term solution were also on the agenda.
On Friday, Gor visited Rohingya camps in Ukhia and Teknaf in Cox’s Bazar.
He arrived in Dhaka on 30 July for a three-day official visit.
No details of any decisions, commitments or agreed next steps from the meeting were provided.
