UAE officials said at least seven explosions were heard within about 20 minutes in Dubai’s Jebel Ali industrial and port area on Wednesday morning.

Dense black smoke was reported over the area after the blasts.

Authorities had not issued an official explanation for the cause of the explosions at the time described.

Thermal imagery indicated a fire at a warehouse near the port that was described as being used for fuel storage and transfer.

Several Iraqi media outlets claimed missiles launched from Yemen caused the explosions.

That missile claim was not independently verified, and UAE authorities had not confirmed an attack.

No immediate official information on casualties or the scale of damage was released.

Explosions were also said to have been heard in Yemen’s capital, Sanaa, where unverified claims included air strikes and missile launches.
