Prime Minister Tarique Rahman formally inaugurated the July Mass Uprising Memorial Museum on Wednesday, 5 August, and then toured its galleries.
The opening ceremony began at 9 a.m. with the unveiling of a plaque.
Rahman viewed exhibitions tracing events associated with the July 2024 movement.
The collection includes photographs, historical documents and other memorabilia.
Additional displays include audio-visual materials and press clippings related to the movement.
The museum presents the movement’s history, struggle and sacrifices through its exhibits.
Former chief adviser Muhammad Yunus was present with Rahman during the visit.
Ministers, senior military and civilian officials, invited guests and family members of people described as martyrs attended the opening.
The opening day was reserved for special guests and those family members.
The museum is scheduled to open to general visitors from Thursday, 6 August.
Visitors will be able to enter by purchasing tickets online, with fees listed as Tk50 for adults and Tk25 for children.
