A motorcyclist was killed in a crash involving a truck near Charaikol rail gate on the Kushtia–Rajbari regional highway in Kumarkhali.
Police identified the deceased as Abdullah Al Noman, 40, of Mahendrapur village in Jagannathpur union.
Witnesses said persistent rain had left the road slippery and that Noman’s motorcycle lost control while he was attempting to overtake a speeding truck.
They said he fell and was run over by the truck’s rear wheel, dying at the scene.
Kumarkhali police inspector Amirul Islam said the body was recovered and handed to highway police.
He said procedures were under way to release the body to relatives without an autopsy following a family request.
Police said the truck had been seized and further legal action was planned.
