Indian journalist Mayukh Ranjan Ghosh, who became widely known in Bangladesh for negative comments about the 2024 uprising, said on his verified Facebook page on 5 August 2026 that he had left the Bengali television channel Republic Bangla.
In the post, he wrote that his last working day at Republic Bangla had been that morning and confirmed the news of his exit.
He did not specify why he was leaving, saying it was not the day to discuss the reasons.
Ghosh said the decision was not sudden and that he had made it up in 2025.
He wrote that his work is delivering information to people and that presenting his positions on statism or Hindutva and opposing what he called anti-national narratives does not require viewers to hear him only on television.
He said he would write more details later, thanked those who loved and criticised him, and told critics that "the game has only begun."
The announcement came as the second anniversary of Bangladesh's 2024 student-public uprising was being observed, and in a separate Facebook post the same day Ghosh described the uprising as "a flawed, well-planned deep-state operation."
