A car bomb exploded in the Colombian border city of Cúcuta on August 1, injuring at least 11 people.
The injured included eight police officers and three civilians.
Jorge Quintero, Norte de Santander’s security secretary, said the injured were receiving treatment.
No organisation immediately claimed responsibility for the bombing.
The explosion occurred six days before president-elect Abelardo de la Espriella was scheduled to take office on August 7.
De la Espriella condemned what he described as a terrorist attack targeting police in Cúcuta.
In a message on X, he said terrorism would not intimidate Colombia or weaken the public’s resolve to live in peace and security.
Cúcuta lies near Colombia’s border with Venezuela, in a region where armed and criminal groups have operated.
The reported presence of those groups does not establish who carried out the bombing.
