A Chattogram court has granted David Iman a total of 10 days’ remand in separate murder and arms-recovery cases from Fatikchhari.

The order provides five days of remand in each case.

Judicial Magistrate Mohammad Motasim Billah issued the order on August 2 after a hearing.

Additional Superintendent of Police Kazi Mohammad Tarek Aziz confirmed the court’s decision.

Police said the murder case concerns the killing of Jamal, while the second case concerns arms recovered in Fatikchhari.

Police said Iman was arrested in Jessore and later handed over to Chattogram district police.

Investigators said they intend to question him about an alleged criminal network, the source of weapons and the whereabouts of suspected associates.

Police have alleged his involvement in multiple cases involving murder, arms, extortion and organised crime.

A separate court also showed Iman arrested in an extortion case filed at Hathazari Police Station.
