Police are investigating the death of Sara Roksana Pinu at her home in Faidabad, Dakshinkhan, on 30 July.
The incident occurred in a second-floor flat in the Jamtala Lane area during the afternoon, police said.
Police said Pinu was alone at home at the time.
Police and family members said intruders entered the flat after cutting a window grille.
They alleged that she was killed by suffocation.
Her family alleged that cash and gold jewellery were taken from the home.
Mirza Tarek Ahmed Beg, deputy commissioner of the DMP's Uttara division, said the suspected entry occurred after 3pm and that household items had been taken.
Pinu's son said he found her in the guest room after returning home.
A Dakshinkhan police sub-inspector said Pinu's daughter returned from school after waiting for her mother, then alerted a teacher, who informed the girl's father.
The officer said police reached the scene at about 4:30pm, when Pinu's husband and younger daughter were present.
Pinu was from Katiadi in Kishoreganj; family information identified her as a dental technologist.
Police said they were collecting evidence and investigating the case.
No arrests, forensic findings, or confirmed motive were disclosed in the information provided.
