Police in Chattogram's Rouzan upazila arrested Mohammad Rashed, also known as 'Jaisyak', an accused in the murder case of Jubo Dal worker Mohammad Mujibur Rahman, on 1 August 2026.
He was detained around 5:30 pm at a rented house belonging to Mohammad Hashem on the eastern side of Kortar Dighi in Ward 1 of Noapara union, where he had been in hiding since the case was filed.
Rouzan Police Station officer-in-charge Md. Saiful Islam said Rashed is the second accused in the case and that police raids to arrest other fugitive suspects are continuing.
Police had previously arrested accused No. 1 Md. Naim and accused No. 3 Md. Shuv in the same case.
Mujibur, 57, was killed by gunfire on 26 February at Alimiahut Bazaar in Purba Gujra union; he was described as the son of Abdul Monaf and a resident of Ward 4.
Police said the arrest was made on the basis of secret information and with the cooperation of local residents.
With Rashed's arrest, at least three accused in the case have now been taken into custody.
