A shooting took place at an In-N-Out Burger restaurant in Twin Falls, Idaho, on Saturday.
Twin Falls Police Chief Matthew Hicks identified the restaurant as the scene of the incident.
Police confirmed that people were killed and injured, and said the suspected shooter had also died.
City spokesperson Josh Palmer said three people were killed and two others were injured.
Police had not released a final casualty count and were still working to establish the number of victims.
Palmer did not confirm whether the suspected shooter was included among the people reported killed or injured.
Hicks said the shooting created a chaotic scene.
Twin Falls is a city in southern Idaho with a population of about 56,000.
