RAB-2 has announced heightened intelligence surveillance on banned organizations and radical groups ahead of August 5, the July Mass Uprising Day, according to Major M Mubin Rahman Tapas, the unit's Deputy Director (Media).
The unit said it is implementing a special security plan involving 212 members to prevent sabotage and keep law and order normal for official, private and social events held on the day.
The President is expected to attend a reception and discussion for July martyrs' families and wounded fighters at China Friendship Conference Centre.
The Prime Minister is expected to inaugurate the July Memorial Museum at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar the same day.
RAB said measures include checkposts at venue entry and exit points, drone surveillance, robust patrols, motorcycle patrols, round-the-clock patrolling, and coordination with the state security agency SSF.
Dog and bomb squads have been deployed, a cyber security team will work to prevent rumours online, and citizens were asked to report suspicious activity to the nearest RAB camp or the RAB-2 hotline 01777710299.
