The Election Commission has announced a timetable for the presidential election, with polling scheduled for 20 August.
Candidates may submit nomination papers on 13 August between 10am and 4pm.
Nomination papers are scheduled to be scrutinised on 16 August, and the deadline to withdraw candidacy is 18 August.
If more than one candidate remains, voting is to take place in the Parliament chamber from 2pm to 5pm on 20 August.
Chief Election Commissioner A M M Nasir Uddin is to act as the election authority for the contest.
Under the presidential election law, Members of Parliament elect the president.
A nomination requires one MP as proposer, another as supporter, and the candidate's signed consent.
If only one candidate is validly nominated, that candidate is to be declared elected unopposed.
Mohammed Shahabuddin resigned from the presidency on 24 July.
The constitutional and legal framework requires a new presidential election to be arranged within 90 days after the office becomes vacant.
The Parliament Secretariat transferred the presidential-election voter list to the Election Commission Secretariat following the Commission's request.
