Police in Biswambharpur upazila, Sunamganj, arrested Humayun Ahmed, an imam of a local mosque, on Tuesday evening on allegations of raping a college student.

According to police, Ahmed developed a romantic relationship with an eleventh-grade student of Digendra Barman Government College while serving as imam.

When the victim pressed for marriage, Ahmed refused and threatened her, according to the case.
