Testimony was scheduled to begin on 6 August in International Crimes Tribunal-2 proceedings against 22 people over alleged crimes against humanity in Chattogram during the July mass uprising.
The three-member panel is chaired by Justice Nazrul Islam Chowdhury.
The hearing was due to open with the prosecution’s opening statement, followed by testimony from the first witness.
The prosecution filed formal charges on 5 April, and the tribunal accepted them on 7 April.
On 30 June, the tribunal ordered the trial to proceed and set 6 August for testimony.
The case is described as including former foreign minister Hasan Mahmud, former education minister Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury Nowfel and former lawmaker Fazle Karim Chowdhury among the accused.
Five accused were identified as being in custody: Fazle Karim Chowdhury, Azizur Rahman, Touhidul Islam, Md Firoz and Debashish Pal Debu.
The remaining 17 people named in the custody listing were described as absconding.
Although Hasan Mahmud is identified as an accused, his name does not appear in either the five-person custody list or the 17-person absconding list, leaving his reported status unclear.
The first two charges allege the killings of Wasim Akram, Faisal Ahmed Shanto, Md Faruk, Tanvir Siddiqui, Saimon alias Mahim and Hriday Chandra.
A third charge alleges serious injuries to more than 100 people, including Zahid Hasan, Abdul Kader, Asiya Khatun, Sanjida Sultana and Abdullah.
The charges remain allegations to be tested during the trial, and the material does not establish whether testimony was completed or any findings were made on 6 August.
