The Football Association said FIFA’s leadership and governance required a full and rigorous review to safeguard transparent governance in world football.
The association was described as having decided to withdraw a letter of support it sent for Gianni Infantino in late June.
The Football Association of Wales said it had withdrawn its backing for Infantino’s candidacy for the 2027-31 FIFA presidential term.
It cited concerns about governance, decision-making, leadership, values, stakeholder relations, communication and judgement.
UEFA was said to have issued a legal notice concerning FIFA Forward Enterprises and to be considering legal action, arbitration or a regulatory complaint.
The notice was said to demand preservation of documents, emails and stored information related to that plan.
Claims that confederation leaders are preparing a boycott of FIFA meetings, withholding approval of decisions or staging alternative competitions remain unverified in this evidence set.
The reported level of member-association support for Infantino is also unresolved, with accounts ranging from 15 supporters to almost all of FIFA’s 211 members roughly a week earlier.
