The Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) has appointed three foreign coaches—a goalkeeper coach and two assistants—to strengthen national team head coach Thomas Duli's coaching staff.
German coach Christian Barbuchak will serve as goalkeeper coach; the 49-year-old previously held the same role with Kazakhstan's national team in 2011-12 and last worked with Perth FC in Australia's top league.
Vietnam's Nguyen Hoang Lan, an AFC C-licence holder who previously assisted the Guyana national team, and Germany's Renard Carl Stumpf join as assistant coaches.
Stumpf, 64, a former centre-back with a UEFA Pro licence, has previously headed Saudi clubs Al Shabab and Al Ittifaq and played for Galatasaray and FC Cologne.
Barbuchak is expected to work with Bangladesh goalkeepers Srabon and Mitul Marma.
People familiar with the matter said Bangladeshi-origin English footballer Adam Abbas is expected to arrive in Dhaka within the next five days for talks and scheduled programmes; the BFF has not officially announced the visit's purpose or full itinerary.
The appointments come after Duli led Bangladesh to a 2-1 win over San Marino in his first match in charge and ahead of the SAFF Championship, with Duli also requesting two more assistant coaches from within Bangladesh.
