The Health Directorate recorded four child deaths involving measles symptoms during the latest 24-hour reporting period.

It said three of the deaths were in Dhaka and one was in Sylhet.

The directorate reported no child death classified as confirmed measles in the same period.

Since 15 March, 748 children have died with measles symptoms, while 96 deaths have been classified as confirmed measles cases.

The combined reported death toll is 844 children.

The latest daily count included 1,022 children with measles symptoms and 115 classified as measles cases, for a total of 1,137 new cases.

Over the reporting period, the directorate counted 130,083 children with measles symptoms and 16,295 measles cases, totalling 146,378.

It also recorded 108,283 children discharged after recovery during that period, including 886 in the latest 24 hours.

The published figures distinguish between children recorded with measles symptoms and those classified as measles cases.
