Five children died with measles symptoms nationwide in the 24 hours from 4 August 8am to 5 August 8am.
The Health Directorate’s figures were described inconsistently on where those deaths occurred: two accounts put all five in Dhaka division, while another put three there.
No death during that period was confirmed by testing as caused by measles.
Since 15 March, the reported death toll has reached 854 children, comprising 96 deaths confirmed as measles and 758 deaths involving measles symptoms.
The Health Directorate recorded 124 new confirmed measles cases in the latest 24-hour period.
It also logged 959 suspected measles cases over the same period.
The cumulative number of confirmed cases since 15 March stands at 16,655.
The number of suspected cases recorded since then is 132,905.
Hospitals have admitted 115,234 patients with suspected measles since 15 March, and 111,005 have left after treatment.
The supplied figures do not establish a single latest-day hospital admission count, with accounts citing either 841 admissions or 124 measles-patient admissions.
Dhaka division recorded the highest number of newly identified suspected cases in the latest period, with 394 in one divisional breakdown.
