Bangladesh fast bowler Nahid Rana has been ruled out of the upcoming series against Australia because of an injury.

Taskin Ahmed, who remains with the squad, has also been managing fitness concerns.

The two fast bowlers travelled to Australia for medical consultations.

After the consultation, Taskin said he hoped both players’ physical conditions would improve and that he would play alongside Nahid again soon.

Taskin thanked a specialist doctor and a Bangladeshi helper for their support during the treatment process.

Bangladesh are scheduled to begin the series against Australia in Darwin on 13 August.

The reported touring fast-bowling contingent also includes Ebadot Hossain, Hasan Mahmud, Syed Khaled Ahmed and Mushfik Hasan.

The evidence does not specify either player’s diagnosis, expected recovery period or a date for Nahid’s return.
