Dr Momenul Islam, the health and family planning officer at Mohanganj উপজেলা Health Complex in Netrokona, died after becoming ill while on duty.
Netrokona Civil Surgeon Dr Golam Mawla confirmed the death.
Health-complex sources said Dr Islam felt unwell after a morning meeting and later vomited blood.
He received treatment at Mohanganj hospital before being transferred to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital as his condition worsened.
Doctors at the Mymensingh hospital declared him dead at about 2:30pm, health-complex sources said.
The account described the death as following a cardiac episode, but the evidence does not include a medical determination establishing the cause of death.
Mymensingh health director Pradip Kumar Saha said Dr Islam's body had been placed in a morgue.
Dr Islam joined the Mohanganj post in May 2025.
He was from Roumari in Kurigram and had earned an MBBS degree from Rajshahi Medical College.
Dr Mawla and physicians at the Mohanganj complex expressed condolences.
