The Bangladesh Meteorological Department forecast on Wednesday that Dhaka and many other parts of the country could see light to moderate rain or thundershowers with gusty winds, and that some places might receive moderate to heavy rainfall.
The department said day and night temperatures across the country could fall slightly during this spell.
For Dhaka and surrounding areas, the six-hour forecast from 7 am indicated a partly cloudy to cloudy sky, a chance of light rain or thundershowers, and southerly to southeasterly winds of 10 to 15 km per hour, with daytime temperatures likely nearly unchanged.
The department recorded Dhaka's temperature at 28.0°C with 91% relative humidity at 6 am, a maximum of 31.0°C the previous day, a minimum of 27.0°C on Wednesday, and 3 mm of rain in the past 24 hours.
A 24-hour forecast issued Tuesday evening said many places in Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions, along with some places in Dhaka and Khulna divisions, could experience rain or thundershowers until 6 pm Wednesday.
Divisional forecasts show partly cloudy skies, scattered gusty light to moderate rain, possible heavy falls, and a slight drop in both day and night temperatures.
Tuesday's recorded maximum and minimum temperatures at divisional cities include Dhaka 31.0°C and 26.5°C, Rajshahi 33.0°C and 26.2°C, Rangpur 32.2°C and 27.4°C, Mymensingh 30.5°C and 26.0°C, Sylhet 30.2°C and 24.3°C, Chattogram 30.8°C and 26.2°C, Khulna 31.0°C and 28.0°C, and Barishal 29.0°C and 26.2°C.
For inland river ports, the department's forecast from 5 am to 1 pm stated there was no cautionary message and no warning signal needed to be displayed.
